The Employee’s Advantage

Today, we live in an era of economic uncertainty, mergers, acquisitions, downsizing, rightsizing, and spin-offs, not to mention the threat of terrorists attacks and wars. And, the stress of coping with everyday, personal responsibilities seems to never go away.  Some employees thrive in this environment - but most do not.  BHS’s Employee Assistance Programs are designed to provide tangible benefits to employees to enhance health and morale, minimize stress and behavioral problems and promote a productive workplace.  These tailor – made, employee centered programs include:

= Early identification and resolution of problems.
= Easy access to a company dedicated Care Coordinator, 24 hours a day, seven days a week, and to behavioral healthcare providers nationwide within three days of contacting BHS for assistance.
= Participation by the employee in the development of a plan of treatment, choice of provider, access and service without barriers and hassles.
= Personalized treatment including a face-to-face evaluation and counseling.
= Referrals to community resources and support groups to meet the specific needs of the employee.

The Employer’s Advantage

Health and productivity management is an emerging business strategy aimed at improving the total value of human resource investment. What we do in improving employee health is directly related to how productive and profitable an organization becomes.  The development of a BHS Employee Assistance Program designed specifically to meet the needs of the employer is the first step in achieving:

= Significant cost savings.
= Reduction in medical claims costs.
= Increased productivity, reduced absenteeism, fewer accidents and enhanced morale.
= Demonstration of employer's genuine concern for employee health and quality of life.
= A resource for management training and support.
= Wellness Programs.
= Critical incident response.
= Employee satisfaction (in excess of 98%).
= Superior reports on utilization, costs, and trends.

    The Supervisor’s Advantage

Today’s workplace presents a myriad of difficult issues that challenge the capability and judgment of every manager, from top to bottom in the organization.  BHS’s Employee Assistance Program is designed for the benefit of the employee, but has corresponding benefits as a resource to provide support to managers and supervisors as a complement to the expertise found in Human Resources and Risk Management. Resources afforded through the EAP provide supervisors and managers:

= Formal processes for referral and employee evaluation
    = Conflict resolution assistance
    = Substance Abuse awareness training
    = Return to work assessments
    = Fitness for duty evaluations
    = Sexual harassment/FMLA awareness
= Ways to combat workplace violence
